Prison Break – The Closer
This worship service and sermon occurred on Back to School Sunday. Educators and students were invited to receive an inspirational message and prayer for a successful school year.
Philippians 1:1-6 King James Version1 Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons: 2 Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. 3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, 4 Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, 5 For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; 6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Confident (Greek) = Persuaded, as in to induce (set in motion, encourage, activate) a person with words in order to get him or her to believe.
Perform (Greek) = To bring to a close; to finish (John 19:30 uses same word); to fulfill so that the thing done corresponds to what has been said or ordered. It involves the notion of time, performing the last act which completes a process.
Being set in motion, encouraged, activated to believe this very thing!
What is the thing that God wants you to believe?
