Helping the Next Generation

November 8, 2011 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Event Navigation

Philippians 3: 17 Dear brothers and sisters, pattern your lives after mine, and learn from those who follow our example.

I started reading the newly released biography entitled “Steve Jobs” by Walter Isaacson. And I was struck by what Jobs said about the visit Google’s cofounder Larry Page made to see him. Page recently became CEO of Google and wanted tips from Jobs on how to be a good CEO. Though Jobs was bitterly angry with Google, he said, “I tried to be as helpful as I could. I will continue to do that with people like Mark Zuckerberg, too. That’s how I’m going to spend part of the time I have left. I can help the next generation…The (Silicon) Valley (particularly Bill Hewlett of Hewlett & Packard) has been very supportive of me. I should do my best to repay.”

I’ve decided that I am not going to wait until I am diagnosed with an incurable disease to become purposeful in pouring into people’s lives. Therefore, at 7:00pm on two Tuesdays, November 8th and December 13th, I will hold two 90 minute mentoring sessions particularly geared for young adults*.

If you are interested in attending, please email my secretary, Mother Marcia Greene, at mgreene@ptspice.org.

I have no idea where this is heading, but I am willing to “find out where God is moving” so that I can join Him.

* You can define young adult.
